
The Microfluidics Laboratory is set up for flow characterisation and temperature measurement on the micro- to聽nano-scale.聽
The聽range of equipment聽available includes:聽
- Inverted聽epifluorescent聽microscope with a聽computer controlled聽Z stage (100 nm step size)聽
- MicroPIV聽system (LaVision)聽
- Peltier cooled fluorescent camera聽
- Nanosight聽LM14, syringe pumps聽
- Various temperature and pressure sensors with data loggers聽
The laboratory also has a state-of-the-art high speed thermal imaging system capable of resolving聽mK聽temperature differences with 5聽micrometers聽spatial resolution at kHz speed.聽
Micro devices are made using the extensive microfabrication clean room facilities at the 国民彩票 Australia node of the聽.
