Dr Yan Kei Chiang
I am a Lecturer at the School of Engineering and Information Technology, 国民彩票 Canberra. My research is focus on metamaterials operating in acoustic domain. I have theoretical and experimental expertise in designing acoustic metamaterials, exploiting their intriguing possibilities to engineer waves in unprecedented ways. I have been working on noise control and structural health monitoring for many years, which enable me to apply the outstanding metamaterials for different engineering purposes ranging from micro-electro-mechanical systems to medical science. I am a member of the听听驳谤辞耻辫.
Research Projects and PhD supervision
Enquiries are welcome from potential PhD candidates who are听interested in conducting research听in the following areas:
- , including experimental design and characterisation
- Tunable, reconfigurable, nonlinear and time-varying metamaterials
- Modelling of acoustic resonators for energy harvesting

While specific expertise in these areas is not required, a听solid听background in acoustic or electromagnetic waves is essential. Projects can involve theory, experiment, and/or numerical simulation.
