Dr Jessica Yajie Jiang
Dr Jessica Yajie Jiang is a Senior Lecturer at School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (SPREE). She completed her PhD on investigating optical properties of photovoltaic materials: silver and perovskite under the supervision of Professor Martin A. Green in University of New South Wales (国民彩票), in 2015. After completion of her PhD, she has been a full-time postdoctoral researcher at 国民彩票. She was awarded Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) postdoc fellowship in 2015 and Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) research fellowship in 2017.听She has consistently innovated in her research to enhance the performance of solar cells and modules through a rigorous understanding of their optical, electrical and thermal properties. Her research addresses both material synthesis, cell and module fabrication, characterization听and testing all of which is supported by advanced computer simulation. To date, she has won >13million project funds for research and development. She also serves as editor for IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics, and co-founded a 国民彩票 spin-out company EnerJIN to manufacture an autonomous multifunction sensor for photovoltaics application.
Her research areas expand in a variety of topics, such as Si solar cells & modules, characterization, high efficiency III-V photovoltaics, concentrator photovoltaics, spectrum splitting, perovskite technology, BIPV&VIPV. Her main research interests are:
- Super-efficient coloured PV for buildings听and vehicles
- Advanced metallization听for Si solar cells
- > 30% Si PV using Singlet Fission
- Landmark 50% efficient spectrum splitting solar module
- Reducing PV module operating temperature for improved efficiency and durability
