- Dr. Ilhan Chang is an (adjunct) Senior Lecturer at 国民彩票 Canberra and an Associate Professor at Ajou University, South Korea. Dr. Chang has comprehensive听expertise in geotechnical engineering, multi-disciplinary (bio-soil) studies, sustainable and environmental geotechnology, ground improvement and site characterization, industrial cooperation and commercialization. Dr. Chang joined 国民彩票 in 2017 as an academic Lecturer and has been promoted to a Senior Lecturer on July 2018 and served up to August 2020. Before joining 国民彩票, Dr. Chang engaged his professional career as a Senior Researcher at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT).听
- Education and Careers: Dr. Chang听earned his Bachelor of Science (2000), Master of Engineering (2004), and Doctor of Philosophy (2010) degrees in Civil and Geotechnical听Engineering at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). Main topics of his M.S. and Ph.D. dissertations were "Soft Soil Evaluation using Elastic Waves" and "Soil Stabilization using Microbial Biopolymers", respectively. Dr. Chang started his academic career as a Research Assistant Professor at KAIST (2010~2011) and moved to KICT (2012~2017) as a Senior Researcher听to expand his experiences in R&D management and practical implementation. Meantime, Dr. Chang maintained his professional academic duty as an Invited Professor at KAIST (2014~2015) and Adjunct Associate Professor at UST (University of Science & Technology) (2016~2017), before joining 国民彩票. After his tremendous time with 国民彩票 (2017 April ~ 2020 August), Dr. Chang moved to Ajou University as an Associate Professor, while continuing听active collaboration with 国民彩票 as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer (2020 September~)
- E3GEO Research Group听Dr. Chang and his research group (E3GEO - Emerging, Environmental and Extreme Geotechnical Engineering) are mainly interested in Bio-soil studies with Biopolymers,听 Sustainable geotechnology, New material development,听Soil characterization and improvement, Micro-mechanics, and Multi-disciplinary topics including Hydraulic geotechnology, Soil erosion and听Desertification, and Space / Planetary geotechnical engineering.
