School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Dr Kate Waddington completed her PhD studies at WRL in 2024, researching the remediation and rehabilitation of estuarine wetlands. In NSW, coastal floodplains can be significantly affected by acid-sulfate soils and deoxygenation, or blackwater events, contributing to the degradation of adjoining estuarine ecosystems; with associated adverse impacts on local industry and infrastructure.
Kate is an expert in the prioritisation of catchments using multi-criteria decision analysis to assist in targeting remediation projects to optimise environmental, social and economic outcomes.
